Between the mid-1950s and the mid-1970s, Memphis was the epicenter of American music. It wasn't one artist or label; it was a community that drew its strength from the confluence of Southern black and Southern white cultures. All it took was for someone to bring those worlds together. Fifty years ago, someone did. July 5, 2004 marked the 50th Anniversary of Elvis Presley recording "That's All Right" at Sun Studio in Memphis. Rock 'n' Roll went mainstream. This album celebrates music and Memphis and all the artists who contributed to the movement.
