The landmark 1969 album Hot Buttered Soul was not only the album that transformed Isaac Hayes from a behind-the-scenes Stax musician and producer into a cultural icon, it also helped soul music evolve from a singles-oriented business into a full length album art form. 

This newly released 40th Anniversary Edition has been digitally remastered from the original tapes, and features rare photographs and liner notes from Jim James of My Morning Jacket.  It also includes two rare single edits as bonus tracks.
